I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. I had some cool e-mail. Made me laugh, said a prayer and realized that the song "I feel good" was playing in my head. You know the one I mean. Everyone has heard it before. Just maybe not in their head. I have come to realize that not everyone will acknowledge out-loud that they have a voice in their head. Your inner commentary on life. Stop and listen real close to it, cuz it will never steer you wrong. Mine sings to me, cries with me, sometimes yells loudly at me (gives me a headache), but for the most part it communicates with me. I know I know, you are thinking "she's nuts." Maybe I am, but if so, crazy ain't so bad.
I have been learning a lot about myself and the people around me. I spend more time now listening to people and really trying to get to know them, not just skimming the surface so to speak. I am not always happy with some of the insights that I gain, but realize that it is just one way of God letting me know what I need to work on. I believe that He has great plans for me but that I am just not ready yet.
I still need to learn to trust in Him 100%. I need to give it all to Him. That is tough. I am a tough cookie. I can do it by myself, I don't need any help. Sure I don't. My voice has been telling me to get real, life is a lot easier now that I am building a relationship with Jesus. I don't have to do everything by myself, He is in me to help me, not to tell me what I can and can't do.
The other night a wise friend said some things that made me go hmmmm, he said among other things (can't remember exact words) no matter who tells you what you can and can't do, you can do anything you want to, it is up to you to decide if it is right for you or whether by doing it, it would bring someone else down in the process.
I had never thought about it like that before. In that, someone else could be looking at me to see how I live my Christian life as an example for them. Me. Why would someone look to me, but I realized that it is like that everyday, people I work with see the changes in me and they watch. Granted they are probably watching to see if I fall, but never-the-less they are watching and that is probably my most powerful ally in witnessing to them. If I, Claire L. Chevrefils, can come to know and love Jesus with all my heart, then there is hope for the rest of the world, one person at a time, maybe that is my mission. Have to start somewhere.
