slam Slam SLAM!!!

Camping was great. We packed everything and everyone into Kelly's car, just a wee bit cramped, and made the 2 plus hour drive to the town of Falls of Rough and the Rough River/Lake. We got there Thursday evening set up tents and got some sleep. Sort of. Our tent site was nice enough close to the playground and to the restrooms. Hence, the title, the bathroom doors were on springs and some people seemed to take great delight in how loud they could get the door to slam, especially at 5 am. No sooner than you doze back off then, SLAM! It was almost funny at times. Almost as funny as the invasion of kids to the playground, with the oldest loudly threatening to kick some child's butt every 2 minutes.

Enough about that.

The beach was sandy, sun was hot, water was cool. Kids had a great time swimming and so did we. Found out that fish like to bite people and cigarette butts but not bait. I went into the lake and was standing talking to Kelly and almost immediately something was tugging on the string anklet my daughter made for me. I made a bee line to shallow water to see if I had caught anything. No such luck. Kids kept popping up yelling for the fish to leave them alone. It was pretty funny.

Did a little bit of fishing, but it was just too hot for me sitting in the sun. Didn't catch anything, but saw the fish looking at us like "you really think I will bite that". Lost a few hooks and bobbers, and finally decided that swimming was better. The lake water has permanently stained white t-shirts a nasty yellow that bleaching doesn't even help.

Really had a great time, no really strange things happened to us, well, maybe the invasion of the ants on Kelly's windshield. It was pretty disgusting. But other than that, oh we did find the local Wal-Mart, and we did make it through the roundabout a couple of times without incident, so all in all a very good trip.

We are already planning another trip and hope to get some of our classmates to join us. Just say the word and we are gone.

Glad you had a good time and I know that God will lead you to your "calling." Just trust in Him and don't try to find it on your own.
