Heavy Stuff

K on Monday nights we are involved in a ministry at church called F.A.I.T.H. We eat dinner together then some go to the sanctuary and pray while others go to classes. They are split into beginners and continuers (my word). Beginners are taught by our Pastor following an outline that we use when making visits explaining salvation. The rest of us are learning about different Faiths and this 8 weeks is Islam. We had our second class tonight and it is hard to describe some of what we are learning. The Pastor teaching the class includes current events and tonight we saw an American soldier getting shot (he lived) while listening to the Islamic extremist chanting Allah Akbar as he shoots him. It is hard to reconcile using God's name while trying to kill another human being. Granted our God and their Allah are not the same. I don't believe that our God would condone that type of killing, or maybe we need to become more like them. Willing to kill or be killed for our Faith. Would I do that? Do I believe that He would call me to that type of battle? I personally don't think so. Would I die for my Faith? I don't really want to be tested, but I hope that if that time ever comes, that I have the strength to proclaim Jesus Christ, My Lord and Saviour.
